Changes - Part 20 (Mycroft x Reader)
The next morning you woke at 8am; you were really getting used to this early riser thing that was going on with you. You washed up and put on a fresh pair of clothes before brushing out your curly locks and throwing them back up into a blonde ponytail. You crept quietly out of your room and wandered aimlessly around the huge house until you finally happened upon what you were looking for, the kitchen. As you had expected, the kitchen was huge. You took a few minutes to familiarize yourself with the kitchen, figuring out where all the utensils, pots and pans, and varieties of foods were located. One thing was for sure, Mycroft’s kitchen

“I was thinking I should just stay with you during this one. –JW.”
“No, John. I’m fine, I promise. Sherlock needs your help. –(F/I)W.”
“Are you sure, sis? –JW.”
“Yes, J. Now what about this case is so special to Sherlock? –(F/I)W.”
“I’m not really sure, but we’ll be gone for about a week. –JW.”
“Where is it at?? –(F/I)W.”

After you had your fill of candy bars and hospital fountain water, you padded your way back to Mycroft’s room. You now began to actually take in his appearance; his messed up hair and his tired face. He had no shirt on, and his chest was bandaged all the way around. He still had on the same pants from the day before, but his shoes had been removed for comfort. He looked so peaceful but also so helpless. A few minutes later the doctor walked in to usher you out.
“We just have to run a few tests and make sure everything is working the way it should. You’ll be allowed back in as soon as we’re done, Miss Watson.”

Sherlock directed the fleets to carry on and get rid of all of the drug dealers and their drugs. John was now kneeling beside you by Mycroft; a few tears slipped down your face as you stared down at Mycroft. He was trying hard to breathe properly; the bullet went right through his chest but John couldn’t tell if it had punctured a lung or his heart. John was attempting to at least slow the bleeding from the wound that was gurgling up blood as he barked out for you to call an ambulance. You were still kneeling beside them as you dialed quickly and called for an ambulance. Once Sherlock had overseen that the operation was completely shut

A couple months passed by and things with Mycroft were what you considered ‘steady’ for a Holmes boy. He sent you a good morning text every single day, and he even had flowers sent to your door for random reasons. You still went to the park constantly, since that was your favorite place to be, and often sat under the huge, shady tree. John was getting pretty used to your relationship and didn’t mind it since Mycroft appeared to actually care. Sherlock still didn’t like it, but he kept his opinions to himself only for your sake and dealt with Mycroft when you were around. Both John and Sherlock were just glad to see you

Mycroft continued to ask various questions; some about your life, some about your family, and some just plainly about you. His latest question what was your favorite food was, to which you sat up and grabbed the material of his shirt to pull him down. You pulled him down so that he was now lying on the ground beside you, you turned on your left side and him on his right so you could look at each other. You held your head up with your left hand and he with his right, elbows planted in the grass to keep you steady. He was still waiting for your answer, so you leaned in really close so you could whisper.
“Ice cream,” you giggled.

John chuckled, slightly pushing you away after a while, “What for, sis?”
“For giving Mycroft permission to court her, obviously,” Sherlock growled.
John frowned, now realizing that you had probably been out with Mycroft while they were gone, but he quickly smiled at you again.
“I only did it because you’ve been happier lately than I’ve ever seen you. But if anything at all ever goes wrong, please tell me,” John said.
“Because you were a soldier, and you know how to kill people,” you winked.
Sherlock rolled his eyes before retreating to his chair, pouting.
You turned aroun

You backed out of his grasp and stood up, bouncing to the other side of him and grabbing his umbrella up off the ground You leaned on it like a cane and gave him a devilish smile before turning around and slowly walking further into the park with his umbrella. Mycroft stood and walked quickly to catch up to you.
“Where are you going?” he asked when he fell in step beside you.
“We,” you corrected, “Are going for a walk.” You were twirled the umbrella round and round in your right hand, with Mycroft walking beside you on the left.
Your answer satisfied Mycroft, and he simply watched you while you walked

The next day Sherlock returned to Scotland Yard, turns out the case you and him checked out the day before was going to take more than 5 seconds. You volunteered to stay behind, however, and so Sherlock settled for taking John, even though the two were still slightly cross with each other. Sherlock didn’t mind as much as John did though, because now he could take the time to question John about his meeting with Mycroft since you wouldn’t be around. Once they left, you bounded into John’s room to find a change of clothes. Once you were changed, you fixed your ponytail, grabbed your coat, and skipped out the door. You turned l

You sat back up and rubbed your face with your hands. You had to regain your composure; there was no way you were going to let Sherlock read this off of you. You got up and began walking home. At least now you were calm and could bare to be in Sherlock’s presence again.
When you walked into the flat, Sherlock was pouting in his chair with his arms crossed. John was glaring at him from his chair, arms crossed also. John stopped glaring at Sherlock only to look at you when you walked in.
“Hey, J,” you smiled as you shrugged your coat off.
John returned your smile before turning back to Sherlock, “Sherlock.”
